Sad sad! I saw the original and this one made me sleepy. I was glad to finally see the credits as they were more exciting.

The cinematography is of a dark world deprived of daylight. Limited action. Dark + not-intense story = bedtime story.

An unwholesome, sinister movie. I give it one star for great cityscapes. But all the negatives predominate. Unlike the first Blade Runner which has no real plot, this one at least tries but leaves too many loose ends unresolved. Finally it just relies on violence, sado-masochism and a bit of nudity to impress their target audience of mindless adolescents--like the first movie. Potentially interesting subject matter but the producers stayed away from getting people to really think. Ultimately a callous, cynical movie that leaves one feeling spiritually and morally degraded.

Better than the original, as usual.

Was an OK movie not the best, and like most modern movies too many scenes with muffled speech and overpowering background music. Music?? more like noise, which makes it difficult to hear the dialogue. Yes, I'm old, but I have no problem with older movies. everything these days is to hype up the movie.

Personally found it beautiful and engrossing. I enjoyed Ryan Gosling's performance and the emotional depth of the movie. Easily the best sequel I've ever seen.

I'm not sure about this one. The cinemetography and special effects are pretty amazing. It's a dark world these characters inhabit but it is portrayed beautifully. The story, for me was a little ambiguous and cloudy. I suspect I should probably go back and view the original and give it another try after. What I really liked about it was the use of characters and actors from the first movie. Characters who had aged realistically. Ford and Olmos appear as if we had left the old story and came back to it 30 years later, seeing how they have adjusted to the changes intheir world. Nice touch.

This movie does not come close to the original, and for the most part I was bored.

Pages of quotes in IMDb including this title card introduction:

Replicants are bioengineered humans, designed by Tyrell Corporation for use off-world. Their enhanced strength made them ideal slave labor. After a series of violent rebellions, their manufacture became prohibited and Tyrell Corp went bankrupt.

The collapse of ecosystems in the mid 2020s led to the rise of industrialist Niander Wallace, whose mastery of synthetic farming averted famine. Wallace acquired the remains of Tyrell Corp and created a new line of replicants who obey. Many older model replicants - Nexus 8s with open-ended lifespans - survived. They are hunted down and 'retired'

Those that hunt them still go by the name... Blade Runner.
