In 2015's 'How Not to Die,' Dr. Michael Greger presented scientific evidence that a plant-based diet can prevent and reverse many of the causes of premature death and disability. In this follow-up recipe collection, Dr. Greger puts that science into action. From Superfood Breakfast Bites to Spaghetti Squash Puttanesca to Two-Berry Pie with Pecan-Sunflower Crust, every recipe offers a delectable, easy-to-prepare, plant-based dish to help anyone eat their way to better health.

Currently enjoying the recipes from this cook book! So far, they are easy to prepare, nutritionally dense and delicious! In the introductory chapter, Dr. Greger goes over the key points from 'How Not to Die' (his first book, it's massive and filled with conclusions from medical literature on the topic of disease and nutrition). I have not read this one cover to cover, but flipped through last year. It was eye opening just how much science based evidence exists for the benefits of a mostly whole foods plant based diet for the reduction of a spectrum of diseases.

Basically, picking up the cook book is like the action plan to nutritional well being and long term health. Absolutely recommend that everyone checks it out and explores the recipes. And for those folks who want more science and research How Not to Die is sure to please and surprise!

Fabulous cookbook. I have a hundred cookbooks and this is the only one that has healthy recipes I can use without making drastic modifications. Highly recommended.

My new favorite cook book!
.
First off -- I LOVE that all of the recipes are low in sodium and I don't have to wonder if they will still taste good if I cut out the salt when I try them.
.
Every single recipe in this book (and there are a LOT of them -- this is a fairly thick recipe book) is accompanied by the most gorgeous full color pictures -- so it makes them really enticing to try.
.
These recipes (so far as I can tell...) none of them seem to require oil -- another great thing.
.
Almost all the recipes are naturally gluten-free...YAY!
.
Most of the recipes emphasize Dr. Greger's, "Daily Dozen" his listing of the foods we should aim to eat every day...like nuts and seeds, spices, berries etc.
.
I love this book so much -- I ended up getting my own copy
