Released just as the country was going into shelter-in-place, it seemed like the latest from Pixar was going to lost amid the greater issues of the pandemic. Not many folks saw it in the theater, but lot's got to stream it pretty quickly, and (like me) were pleasantly surprised at the heart and h... Read More »

Yes, yes I did cry.
After watching Onward for the first time, it immediately topped the list of my favourite movies. At first, I was a bit skeptical about watching it, as the trailer did not catch my attention, however, as soon as I pressed play, I could not take my eyes away from the screen. Onward is one of the most beautiful and emotional movies that I have ever seen; from the characters to the plot, the creativity that was put into this movie is absolutely mind-blowing. I have personally never seen any other movies resembling one like this, which is what makes it so unique and ‘unbeatable’. I wholeheartedly enjoyed watching this movie, and will continue to do so as it is so heartfelt. I recommend for everyone to set aside time to watch this movie, you will not regret it! 5/5 stars

Disney’s Onward was a cute, heart-felt film that represented family values and the importance of sibling bonds. The characters were all likeable and complex, and the storyline was well-developed. The interactions between one another kept the story line amusing, and was expressive of sibling love. The incorporation of magic was a creative spin and added another level of interest and entertainment. There was humour, adventure, and emotion, which together created a great movie to watch as a family. I think that it could be enjoyable for many audiences, and would definitely recommend this film if you are looking for a light-hearted Disney animation!

It's a wonderful movie! It might slip into clichés, but that's what the film is all about. It gives the audience a sense of epicness and interacts with their emotions. It's well balanced, as the film points out in the adventure part of it, but without ignoring the comic times as well as the very touching moments where you're sure to be moved. It's a wonderful movie that will introduce you to some facets of the job you've probably never thought of before. Good for both children and adults. Pixar did really well once again and I hope to see more outstanding movies from them in the future. 5/5 stars

‘Onward’ is about a modern magical world filled with centaurs, elves, manticores etc. Two brothers; Ian and Barley Lightfoot lost their father when they were very young, now their mom is married to Colt Bronco. When it is Ian’s 16 birthday, his mom gives both him and Barley a gift from their dad, a staff which can do a spell to bring the dad back to life for 24 hours. When working the magic, only the bottom half of the body appear, so in order to complete the spell they must travel to find a special stone. This movie was very heart warming and sweet. The whole movie was sort of a climax because it had me on my feet the entire time. Even the ending was satisfying, even though it was a bit sad. The ending was unexpected which I enjoyed very much and the movie in general. I would recommend this to anyone who would love to laugh and cry! 5/5 stars

Great animation but the story itself was not engaging, unfortunately. I didn't finish this as it was too boring. It's like they can't decide if this will be a kids or family movie.
This adventure quest is not an eye-opening Pixar classic at all. It plays more like a lame, generic, incredibly PC, Disney version of some tired, hackneyed, nerdy teen movie.
Even the infamous “Delgo” was more inspired than this.
For a recent animated film worth talking about, see “Missing Link”.
I am not sure how I feel about this movie, but I felt that the ending was heartwarming and magical. This is not Pixar's best movie, but the animation is good.
This movie's second half is much stronger than the first half, but I really liked it.
If you like gaming, magic, and/or stories about brotherhood, this movie is for you.
Wow! There is no other word to describe this amazing movie. It had a really good plot and very nice characters. Honestly my favorite part about this movie is the lesson I learnt in this movie. One of my lessons in this movie was that you should always stay true to yourself and that the truth always finds a way out. I honestly loved watching the movie and the ending was just spectacular. I was really pulled at my heartstrings. I really liked how they were able to convey what Ian’s dad was trying to say using his actions, even though it was just his bottoms that we were able to see. So I hope you really watch it and learn a valuable lesson. I watched this with my family and it was a great hit. So I recommend this movie to everyone. @AllAboutBooks of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
If you are into tabletop gaming you are going to get a kick out of all the tabletop rpg references and jokes in this movie! Heartwarming, bittersweet, and hilarious!
This was an enjoyable, very moving movie. I love that it was about 2 brothers going on a adventure together and growing closer towards each other. This movie made me cry, but in a good way, at the end. Very much recommend this to anyone who is a Disney fan!
