Harry potter is the best! I waved it off when I first heard of it but know I'm obsessed! it's definitely my favorite book ever. Love JK Rowling her books are so good you have to read them all then watch all the movie's! I'm telling you if harry potter wasn't the best book ever would it have been made a movie?!

have u ever read the Harry Potter book series? if you haven't I definitely recommend it, if you seriously haven't read it you've better go visit your library card and put every single one on hold from 1-7 its the beeeeeeestttt!!!

I loved Harry Potter as a kid in elementary school, and recently decided to re-watch all the movies. Of course, that means I had to reread all the books too to go into even more detail. I'm obsessed with this series, and the first book is so comforting to me as we get a look into Hogwarts and the wizarding world with Harry. 10/10

This first novel of a series of seven by J.K. Rowling provides readers with an unreal experience in a magical world through the eyes of Harry Potter, an orphan who lives restricted in Privet Drive with his cousin. He receives an invitation from Hogwarts, a wizarding school, which he quickly accepts to escape the tortuous living in Privet Drive. There, he meets two people who eventually become his closest friends and allies in finding out the truth about his parents’ death. This novel would make a great read for those who wish to experience the magic and how our mundane world will fare with it. Having the book set from the perspective of an initially ordinary boy helps the reader understand the setting of the story better as well.

This is the book that got me into reading as a child. A masterpiece in all facets, this novel introduces children to a magical world of witchcraft and wizardry. The story is easy enough to read but challenging enough to engross all readers. It cannot be emphasized how easy it is to get drawn into this story, losing hour after hour to this book. I only have positive things to say about this book, and I can recommend it wholeheartedly as a means to get young readers into a new world. What’s more, this story leads into a top-class series that can provide entertainment for months if not years. This book is great, simply put. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

George: You haven't got a letter on yours, Ron. I suppose Mum thinks you don't forget your name. But we're not stupid. We know our names are Gred and Forge.

Harry Potter lives with his aunt, uncle, and cousin in the closet under the stairs at the Dursleys’ family home. He hasn’t had a birthday party in 11 years, and his family is generally terrible to him, but all of this is about to change when Harry receives a mysterious letter that arrives by owl messenger.

The letter holds the key to Harry’s happiness, a place he never even thought existed, a magical school called Hogwarts. There he finds friends, sports, and a great destiny. Read the first book to find out more! I love this book! It shows us a window into another exciting and new world. I would highly recommend this story!

Harry Potter never seemed to fit in anywhere. As an orphan who lived with his cousin, aunt, and uncle, he didn’t even really have a family. He had nothing, that is, until someone showed him a world of magic, literally. On a dark and stormy night, on the floor of a hut in the middle of the ocean, Harry Potter heard a strange creaking at the door. It was early in the morning on his eleventh birthday and his aunt and uncle had taken him off the map, made him untrackable by those trying to contact him. Still, Hagrid, the headmaster of Hogwarts’ trusted friend, arrived and took Harry away to where he belonged as a wizard, the wizarding world.

A month later, Harry was on the train to Hogwarts, then he was at Hogwarts, and before he knew it, Christmas had arrived. By then, Harry and his best friends, Hermione and Ron, were searching for the identity of the mysterious Nicolas Flamel, for this would answer their bigger question: what was under the trapdoor on the forbidden third floor? Eventually they found their answer. Believing their evil professor, Severus Snape, was after the precious object to help a truly dangerous entity, they set off for the adventure of a lifetime. What they found under the trapdoor was more than they had bargained for.

As a lifelong Harry Potter fan, or Potterhead, I greatly enjoyed reading the first book in J.k. Rowling’s famous series again. Knowing the entire story by heart, I loved finding little easter eggs, pieces of foreshadowing, or underlying metaphors. This book would rank high on my ten 25 favorite books, without hesitation. I recognize now how quickly the story moves along compared to the other books. The stories became more developed as the each book came out. Having read the other six books, I want to know more about Harry’s first year at Hogwarts. That is the only fault I can find in this wonderful novel.

I have and always will recommend this entire series to anyone. Harry and his friends are so relatable, so human, that the reader feels as though they are part of the fantastic trios. The incredible story is so transporting, one might actually believe they have entered the wizarding world, and long for it as much as Harry when they are away from it. Every part of the story are compelling in different ways. It is a great birthday present to start someone on this awesome series. It has something for everyone.

What did Harry Potter know about magic? He was stuck living with the decidedly un-magical Dursleys, who hated him. He slept in a closet and ate their leftovers. But an owl messenger changes all that, with an invitation to attend the Hogwarts School for Wizards and Witches, where it turns out Harry is already famous...

The Sorcerer's Stone is the first book in the Harry Potter series where you read about his first year at Hogwarts. Harry's parents died when he was young so he was sent to live with his aunt, uncle and cousin. Many strange things happened in Harry's life that he couldn't explain, until his 11th birthday when he found out he was a wizard. Against his aunt's and uncle's wishes he was sent to Hogwarts and had many daring adventures through out the year. Including something about Nicholas Flamel and the Sorcerer's Stone...

The novel opens with a description of the Dursley family, a middle-class family that lives in Little Whinging, Surrey. Vernon and Petunia Dursley are constantly worried that someone will find out about Petunia’s decidedly “unDursleyish” witch sister, Lily, and their worries are justified when Lily’s infant son, Harry, is left on their doorstep. Lily and her husband, James Potter, had been murdered by the dark wizard, Voldemort, but when Voldemort attempted to kill Harry, his power somehow broke. Harry becomes the only living person ever to survive the killing curse, and the only sign of his encounter with Voldemort is a unique lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead. Because Harry does not have any other living relatives, Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, decides to leave him with the Dursleys until he is old enough to attend Hogwarts.

The story starts with the introduction of Harry Potter, the protagonist of the story. Harry is the sole survivor of the fatal car accident that killed his parents- or so he is told. Harry is forced to stay with his aunt, uncle, and cousin, and lived a miserable life right up until his 11th birthday, when a mysterious figure shows up, and reveals to Harry about what he truly is; the secret that his surviving family members had kept secret for so long. He is a wizard! With his new identity, he attends a school for wizards and witches, and makes new friends. He also finds out the real truth of his parent's death, and gets involved in a suspicious plot involving the attempted robbery of a very valuable object. What will become of him? What is the object so special that everyone wants to steal it? This book is about true friendship, loyalty, adventure, and is a notable book for anyone who enjoys magical adventures.
