Sans actors, storyline, and dialogue, I guess that I must be far too jaded for not appreciating Powaqqatsi as others had guaranteed me I would._____ Even though this film did, at times, contain some vividly startling images, its overall effect quickly became monotonous, repeatedly showing me too much of the same sort of thing, over and over again._____ It didn't help matters much that Philip Glass's meandering, synthesized musical score nearly put me off to sleep._____ Far too much of Powaqqatsi's imagery focussed in too closely on the dirty, over-crowded poverty of various Third World countries._____ For a short while my interest in these images was piqued, but, before long (after having it shoved into my face for 90 solid minutes) it began to grate on my nerves and my attention soon waned.
