When Julia travels to Burma to discover what happened to her father, a wealthy lawyer who left his family in New York City without even a goodbye, she discovers a love story that resonates with the reader. Beautifully crafted writing tells the heartbreaking story of her young blind father and the handicapped girl he fell in love with. Forced to leave Burma before World War II, he had to turn his back on his past. Have Kleenex ready for the ending. One can feel the difference between the Buddhist acceptance of life, and the Christian approach to conquering life as the story unfolds.
