I have been waiting to read this book and was so excited to get it. I enjoyed all the historical information on what it was like to run an early switchboard, and talk on the party lines where anyone can listen in. It was good but didn't quite live up to my expectations - the main characters are just a little too odd to relate to and some of the events in the book a little too unbelievable. Of course not everything has to be likely to happen in real life but you don't want it to be too big a stretch. Well written, but I would say a little strange at times.
