2 stories in one book - kidnapping of the president's children and Muslim terrorists doing damage in Washington, DC. Each story is independent of each other, except for the similarity of location and involvement of intelligence agents. However, in one storyline the involvement is successful while in the other it is a draw. Enjoyable read despite the 3 page chapters. It seems that those of Muslim faith are now replacing Russians as the bad guys in novels. Title of book is misleading as Alex Cross doesn't seem to be in any danger in any of the situations. This novel has only Patterson's name on the title page, if that means anything to you.
