Excellent read. The author compiles accounts from every country and predicament, there are accounts from prisoners of war, civilians, famous nazis, famous allies, regular Germans, Wehrmacht, the soviets, the list goes on. It is written like a series of stories that are all tied together by the impending end of the most destructive war ever waged. It also perpetuates the feeling of desperation and hopelessness of many of the prominent Nazi figures and German non-combattants in light of the impending Soviet occupation.
