An Event Group Thriller
Nov 17, 2014
Meh. The book's not bad, and the historical elements are a nice touch, but the author obviously has no military experience, and did very little military research, considering this is a military-related thriller. For example, his regular confusion between 'clips' and 'magazines', and his belief that the M14 is a compact M16 (an M4 is actually a shortened M16 - an M14 is a completely different weapon). These glaring errors really took away from the story. In addition, his monsters, while interesting, somehow magically grew to inhuman proportions, and increased their mass, without any explanation of where this additional mass came from... conservation of mass, anyone??
