Buffalo Bill, a white man, took a troop of Native Americans, including many Arapaho, to Europe more than 120 years ago, to demonstrate what Indian life was like, and show off his own marksmanship. Now an Indian collector, Trevor, has arranged to donate Buffalo Bill's regalia to the museum Fr. John's creating on the Wind River Rez. But when the boxes, packed in Germany, arrived at the museum, they were empty. Where along the way were they stolen? By whom? Trevor thinks someone intercepted them along the way. Fr. John and Arapaho Attorney Vicky think Trevor knows more than he's telling. But he doesn't get a chance to explain, or prove he knows where they went. Now it's up to John and Vicky to find them before the thieves collect them and get them away from the rez completely. Not as good as the others in the series so far; a bit far fetched. Even so, adds to the characters of Fr. John and Vicky, and to the view of the lives of the Arapaho, both in the past, and today.
