Based on a book by undercover U.S. Customs Special Agent Robert Mazur about a sting operation directed at the Medellin Cartel and the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI), this, sadly, is a movie we have all seen before. The interesting aspects of the story, that the U.S. Government (CIA and NSC) used BCCI ("the bank of crooks and criminals") to fund the Reagan administration's illegal Iran-Contra activities, are merely elliptically mentioned. On the upside, the performances are good. Bryan Cranston, John Leguizamo, Benjamin Bratt all do a fine job. And who doesn't love Diane Krueger?
