Jun 09, 2017TEENREVIEWCREW rated this title 4 out of 5 stars
You have the rebel, the princess, the jock, the outcast, and the brainy, and they are all trapped in after-school detention together. Under the rule of their power hungry principal, they try to make the best of their time and get to know each other in the most personal of ways. This 80’s classic reveals what it is like to be a highschool student and a part of different cliques, as well as personal struggles that you may endure at home. I can re-watch this movie, again and again, therefore I am rating it 5/5 stars and recommending it to anyone who likes older films. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library This 80's film captures the social aspects of high school by showing what happens when you place a jock, a princess, a rebel, an outcast, and a brainy in school detention together. Each student is assigned the task to write an essay about who they think they are. Being teenagers, they don't know the answer either. This movie teaches us not to judge before we know, and not to react until we understand. By learning the story of each person and how they ended up in that library doing a Saturday detention, John Hughes has captured what it means to be human.  - @Moviecritquer01 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library The Breakfast Club is one of the most well-known, classic 80’s movies from John Hughes. It is the perfect teen movie that everybody can enjoy and love. It follows the story of five high school students who all find themselves in detention on a Saturday morning. They are reluctant to get along until the end when they learn about each other and their very different lives. All of the characters are all so well-developed and interesting, it’s so hard to pick a favourite. The actors are just as amazing, and the soundtrack is iconic. I would rate this 4/5 stars. - @reginaphalange of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library This movie is truly a classic. It has a wonderful message and shows how even the most different people can come together. This movie has to be one of my favourites. It is such a good film and I was never bored or confused. I always understood what was going on, and I liked every part of it. I would highly recommend this movie to tweens, teenagers, and young adults. Overall I rate it 4/5. - @potterhead of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
